Noël J. Akers
Noël J. Akers

Noël is a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney. He is also a Registered Trade Mark Agent in the UK and admitted to practise before the European Community Trade Mark Office. He graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in Chemical Engineering before qualifying in the patent and trade mark profession.

Noël has worked with a number of international corporations and law firms and spent a considerable length of time practising European patent law in the United States. Noël has developed a specialty in coordinating patent procurement and litigation in cases involving actions in the US and Europe.

Noël has extensive experience in all aspects of the procurement, enforcement and exploitation of intellectual property, and has published widely on intellectual property rights.

Graeme McCallum
Graeme McCallum

Graeme is a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney. He is also a UK Registered Trade Mark Attorney and admitted to practise before the European Community Trade Mark Office. He graduated from The University of St Andrews with a degree in Physics before qualifying in the patent and trade mark profession.

Graeme has worked with a number of law firms and international corporations, including BlackBerry. While at BlackBerry, Graeme was responsible for their European Patent strategy and aligning it with business objectives. Graeme also worked in Aberdeen, Scotland for several years focusing on oil and gas exploration and production technologies. He has considerable experience of standards related patent applications and crafting claims to maximise value in a cost efficient manner.

Graeme handles a wide range of subject matter including wireless technologies, such as LTE, user interfaces, software, medical devices, mechanical devices, optics and opto-electronics and oil and gas exploration and production technologies. Graeme also has extensive experience in trade mark matters, including oppositions and enforcement of trade marks and design rights.

Amanda Mack
Amanda Mack

Amanda joined N. J. Akers & Co in 2015. Amanda brings with her a wealth of experience in the field of trade marks, including working as a Trade Mark Attorney in a top 5 London law firm and in-house with Burberry in the brand protection division. She has considerable experience in all aspects of trade marks and trade mark related work, including trade mark licensing, trade mark oppositions and other contentious matters, clearance searches and trade mark filing and prosecution.

 

Rowena Hilton

Rowena joined N. J. Akers & Co in 2008 and since joining she has expanded her role to include all matters relating to Patent filing and prosecution administration in the UK, Europe and Worldwide. Rowena deals with document review and management, filing of patent applications, monitoring of deadlines and procedures for foreign filings.

Suzanne Millington
Suzanne Millington

After working as a secretary for a number of different companies Suzanne moved to a firm of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys in Bath. Subsequently, Suzanne relocated to Cornwall and joined N. J. Akers & Co. Suzanne handles the accounts for the firm.

Mel Hayward
Mel Hayward

After working as a secretary for a number of firms of solicitors Mel moved to a firm of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys in York. Subsequently, she relocated to Cornwall in 2010 and joined N. J. Akers & Co.

Mel now works alongside Amanda and Graeme as a Trade Mark Administrator.  Mel also handles the renewals for trade marks and designs.

Dawn Nash
Dawn Nash

Dawn joined N. J. Akers & Co in 2012 after relocating to Cornwall, having spent the previous ten years in France.  Dawn mans the reception with Jo and they will be your first point of contact when telephoning the office with any enquiries and will be there to greet you on arrival.

Dawn carries out a wide range of administrative duties in respect of patent cases and is responsible for attending to the renewals of granted patents.  She also ensures that the office runs smoothly and efficiently.

Jo Hepburn

Jo joined N. J. Akers & Co in 2015 after relocating back to Cornwall, having spent the previous 20 years in Durban, South Africa.  Jo mans the reception with Dawn and they will be your first point of contact when telephoning the office with any enquiries and will be there to greet you on arrival.

Jo carries out a wide range of administrative duties, together with ensuring the office runs smoothly and efficiently.
